FRANKLY SPEAKING WITH FRANCA

Q: I feel like I’ve been working hard for a long time, but I’m not where I expected to be. What should I do?

Franca’s Answer: It’s important to separate effort from expectation. Sometimes, the timeline we imagine doesn’t match reality — and that can feel discouraging.

But progress is not always linear. There are periods of growth that are not immediately visible.

Instead of focusing only on where you thought you would be, look at what you’ve built so far. Skills, experience, resilience — these all matter.

You may not be where you expected, but that doesn’t mean you’re not moving forward.

Adjust your expectations if needed, but don’t underestimate your progress.
