FRANKLY SPEAKING WITH FRANCA

Q: “I feel like I compare myself to others too much. How can I stop?”

Franca’s Answer:

Comparison is a natural human tendency, but excessive comparison can damage self-confidence and happiness.

The first step is recognizing that everyone’s journey is different. What you see on the surface rarely reflects the full story behind someone’s life.

Instead of comparing outcomes, focus on your own progress. Ask yourself whether you are improving, learning, or growing compared to yesterday.

Limiting social media exposure can also help. Online platforms often highlight only the most successful or glamorous moments of people’s lives.

Most importantly, define success according to your own values rather than external expectations.

When you concentrate on personal growth rather than competition, confidence and satisfaction naturally increase.
